Why not all guardians?

Postby Toranaga » Sat Mar 17, 2012 5:01 pm

When I put in different kinds of troops against the same odds in the sim. I always have to use less guardians for defense and attack. They have higher attack/defense rating than anything else. Why not put all my production into them?

Only downside is if you lose them, rebuilding is slow as the city only has one troop queue working, whereas you could have had infantry being built at the same time. You will also run out of iron. You could be building something that uses less iron to keep resources balanced and have a full city quickly.

Cause they are the weakest unit when compared to anything else

For example u have 20 k farm space so u can have 5000 guards 20000 lancers sents or zerks

So basicly to equal 1 guard u have to have 4 infantry so u multiply everything about them by 4

Lancer x 4
Attack: 80
Defence (mounted) 200
defense (infantry) 100

Sentry x 4
Attack 60
Defense (mounted) 100
Defense (infantry) 265

Berzerker x 4
Attack 200
Defense (mounted and infantry) 20

Compare that to guards
Atack 115
Defense (mounted) 110
Defense (infantry) 140

As u can see infantry are way more powerful but they lack the speed of guards plus guards can both attack and defend

My army consist of berzerkers, and guardians.

I find it very useful that the berzerker is the fastest infantry and has the highest attack attribute.

While guardians have a high attack and defensive attribute at the same time.

I keep about 4k zerks and 4k guardians in a city. They are fast and good for quick attacks and support.

4/5 of my cities consist of this combination. The rest is an all guardian cities with scholars.

This is geared more towards players who are on the offensive. I find lancers and sentries useless because they are not meant for attacking. They are only useful defensively when you get attacked which I'm not familiar with. Noone dares attack me and my guild lol

I am merely helping players how to play strategically. I think it's noble to tell your story.

Key to winning isn't a player who has a lot of cities but the guild who is very tight and most active. Respect is a very important factor.

I choose 4,000 guards 2,350 zerks and 75 scout with room for scholars. Don't care about defense. I'm in the #1 guild in World 4 with plenty of people willing to support me if my 176 cities run out.
